- The story: A Dutch captain named Vandervecken was sailing around the
- southern tip of Africa, the Cape of Good Hope. A storm came up and the
- sailors said that perhaps they'd better wait for it to pass before
- rounding the cape. Vandervecken took the name of the Lord in vain and said
- "I'll round the Cape if it takes me until Doomsday." He's been trying
- ever since.
