  11. Many names in the Dutch version have been translated -- in fact all English
  12. sounding names have become Dutch sounding names. This has been done by the
  13. translator in coordination with Tolkien. I think it is a good thing that the
  14. names are translated, since this transfer more of the feeling of the original
  15. to the Dutch. It would have been a bit alienising if we had to read English
  16. names.

  30. read LotR several times in Dutch and only once in English.

  32. In the biography, it is said that for the Polish edition, Tolkien provided the
  33. 'original' Westron. Can somebody post them?

  35. P.S. if somebody has time it would be nice to have a full list of translations
  36. from Dutch to English and vice versa.
