  19. So you're expanding a mythos?  What prevents people from `expanding' other
  20. mythos, than?  Let me make an example to illustrate the weirdness of this.

  23. If I want to know how tough Solomon or Moses really was I can buy a product
  24. from XYZ company and find out the facts since XYZ company is in the business
  25. of `expanding' Biblical legend?  Sounds kind of weird, doesn't it?

  27. Once the legendry has been written, one can only speculate... this is the
  28. point I make.  If you claim only to speculate, that's fine!  But if you
  29. claim to be expanding legends that are established, you're on thin ice...
  30. no pun intended.

  32. What you do as an author for ICE is not an expansion of middle-earth legend.
  33. It is speculation based on existing middle earth legends.  I understand that
  34. ICE is a game-playing company, but I don't think that they should claim to be
  35. expanding the legends of middle earth... what they do is make games that
  36. overlay the facts... and unfortunately from the messages that some have
  37. posted to this group, we know that this speculation is interpreted by some
  38. as fact.  I find that unfortunate; I have nothing against ICE's activities
  39. otherwise...
