  11. In reading the Silmarillion recently, I came across the following passage
  12. in the section "Of the Rings of Power and the Third Age" referring to
  13. the battle on Dagorlad between the Last Alliance and the forces of Sauron:

  15.     All living things were divided in that day, and some of every
  16.     kind, even of beasts and birds, were found in either host, save 
  17.     the Elves only.

  19. Does this mean that there were orcs and trolls fighting for Gil-Galad
  20. and Elendil in the last alliance?  Ents fighting on both sides?  Or
  21. am I reading too much into this passage?
