  18. Pity the Haitink version of this suite is coupled with the awful 2nd and
  19. 3rd symphonies... Still, it is a good recording of that suite, though the
  20. Jarvi version on DG with the 12th symphony and Hamlet Op. 32a suite is
  21. by far the better buy, in my opinion. Jarvi does the whole lot just as
  22. well as Haitink...

  28. Jarvi fans unite!! Though Haitink's 15th is by far, without doubt the
  29. best recording I've heard (on Decca/London). Jarvi's 15th is pretty
  30. dim and Maxim Shostakovich, whose 8th I liked, doesn't do so well
  31. either, and the recording is marred with a lot of coughing and other
  32. noises...
