  44. LIMBAUGH WATCH

  46. December 29, 1992 - It's now 57 days after Bill Clinton's
  47. election and Rush is still on the air with 546 radio affiliates
  48. and 207 TV affiliates, and his book has been on the NY Times
  49. hardback non-fiction best-seller list for 15 consecutive weeks
  50. and is currently number one on the list.

  52. MORNING UPDATE

  57. Update  Animal Rights         (Andy Williams, "Born Free" with
  58. gratuitous sound effects)

  60. Reader's Digest recently condensed a Wall Street Journal story
  61. called "Revenge of the Sea Lion." Sea lions have doubled in
  62. population since 1975, which is when the animal rights wackos
  63. played on the public's sympathy to push through laws to protect
  64. the sea lion. However, this growth in sea lions has endangered
  65. the steelhead trout, which is a crop for Northwest fisherman and
  66. Native Americans. The sea lions are eating so much of the trout
  67. that the species itself may soon reach "lake temperature." Man,
  68. though, is powerless to halt this extermination of the trout
  69. because the sea lions are still a protected species.

  71. The article, however, has an even more chilling story about how
  72. an 18-year old California jogger was killed by a mountain lion.
  73. The mountain lion, like the ocean-going lion, is protected as
  74. well, and thus nothing can be done to control its population
  75. growth. The mountain lions seem no longer to fear humans, and
  76. people are dying as a result.

  78. The salient point in both of these stories is that animals do not
  79. have rights, and whenever misguided humans give such rights to
  80. animals, it is humans who end up losing.
