  10.   The Cavaliers annual awards banquet was held at the Rosemont convention
  11. center this past weekend after the December camp. The banquet this year was
  12. a little special as you can imagine, and the facilities and food were
  13. magnificent. The list of drum corps notables that attended was long, but
  14. among them were: Done Pesceone, Gail Royer, Tom Blair (director of the DCI
  15. broadcasts and Cavalier alum), Fred Sanford, Jay Wanamaker, and many others.

  17.   Jim Campbell, always the comic relief, put together a 5 minute tape of the
  18. more ecstatic judges comments from finals, and this really broke the crowd up.
  19. There were all kinds of presentations made by Jim, Jeff Fiedler, Don Warren,
  20. and others to deserving people in the Cavalier organization. The 700+ crowd
  21. gave many standing ovations before the night was over. All of the age-outs
  22. gave a short speech, and everyone had a great time.

  24.   The camp went well also, and because of the talent we have in the line
  25. this year and the spots opened up by eliminating the cymbal line, we have
  26. increased the size of the battery to 10 snares, 6 tenors, and 6 basses.
  27. At the end of each camp, each of the sections of the corps gets to show
  28. off what they have been working on. The hornline played through the show,
  29. and man, it is great. The drumline played through our newly reworked and
  30. much more dense (if that is possible) version of our streetbeat, "Bunko
  31. Rules". The pit played a really tasty arrangement of a Steps Ahead tune,
  32. and they appear to have plenty of talent, also. Well, enough rambling.
  33. I can't wait for June! Any reports on other camps?
