  11. The deafening silence in response to my CFD on APV must mean
  12. everyone agree with my analysis :).
  13.  
  14. For those who missed my previous posting on APV.  I will recap
  15. for you.
  16.  
  17. For approximately two years, we had a mailing list call vietnet
  18. for Vietnamese.  The list grew to almost a thousand names and was
  19. killing the server.  We issued a CFD, then CFV for
  20. soc.culture.vietnamese (aka SCV) and that went through.  While all
  21. this was happening, we had thought of also issuing a CFD/CFV for
  22. talk.politics.vietnamese.  This is because the amount of postings
  23. relating to politics in the mailing list sometime grew close to
  24. 100% and drown out all other discussions.  Unfortunately, it fell
  25. through a crack and no one went through the process for TPV.

  27. SCV has been in existence for over a year and is thriving.  The
  28. problem with political discussions (and flames that went along
  29. with politics) are also still there and at times overwhelm the
  30. rest of the newsgroup.  We felt that it is time to try the alt.*
  31. newsgroup and let people move their political discussions there.
  32.  
  33. I would like to have the newsgroup created as soon as possible
  34. to move the current political discussions going on SCV off it.

  37. people.  Thank you for your kind feedbacks.
