- Is there a FAQ for alt.cd-rom? I'm looking for a CD-ROM drive for my Mac
- mostly for games like Spaceship Warlock and Sherlock Holmes Consulting
- Detective. The NEC CD-Express kit looks nice, but the drive isn't all that
- fast (I can pick up the NEC CD-Express kit for the Mac for $399).That's
- a pretty good price considering you get the 10 CD's plus the EduCorp
- sampler CD.

- The new multi-session compatible CD-ROM's have just started shipping and their
- based on the Toshiba T3401 mechanism with a 190ms access time, 327 kps
- transfer rate, and a 256K buffer for $599 from EduCorp.

- Has anyone used FWB's CD-ROM Toolkit? I've used HD-Toolkit for the Mac
- and it's a pretty impressive program. It's hard to believe a new CD-ROM
- driver alone can speed up access 1800% like the advertisement claims.

- MacWarehouse has a no-name CD-ROM drive for $299 in their catalog. I
- called and they said it was based on a Sony mechanism but had no more
- information. Does anyone know anything about this CD-ROM?
