- It was now Christmas day, and all through the place,
- there were folk making merry, from land sea and space.
- When down from the roof by the circular stairs,
- came a pair that even here got some curious stares.
-
- They were both dressed in red, trimmed with white fluffy fur,
- with jackets that matched, slacks for him, skirt for her.
- With shiny black boots, wide black belts and red packs,
- they descended the stairs, leaving white snowy tracks.
-
- Now the man had a beard, and a laugh that was jolly,
- but his long hair was brown and was wreathed round in holly.
- And his build was not that of a corpulent elf,
- but was quite fit and trim, and a picture of health.
-
- Twas the woman who got the most looks round the house,
- for you don't often see a cute, six-foot tall mouse.
- Her fur was light grey and she laughed with a giggle,
- wore a white velvet choker and walked with a wiggle.
-
- Then they set down their packs and passed packages round,
- and they called out the names for each gift that was found.
- There were boxes and bags, all with wrappings so bright,
- tied with ribbons and bows, for the Christmas delights.
-
- There's a present for Blammor, and for Liralen Li,
- and a bone for dear Fezzik, and three gifts for Phee.
- For Splash! and for Danger Mouse, Boss Troll and the Wave,
- for Bear and for Kitten were gifts that they gave.
-
- For Amanda and Ekho, the Wolf and for Nina,
- The Lamplighter, COAN, Jack Crow, Yukipuma,
- for Liralen's John and our dear Didi Sprite,
- Each one gets a gift on this wonderful night.
-
- For Nick Chopper the tin man, and for Rowan the Gypsy,
- there were gifts for each patron, weather sober or tipsy.
- A small packet for Feather, and for Mike, our bartender,
- and to Speaker to Minerals a gift did they render.
-
- To Mary with a Tail and Ignatz the Mouse,
- came gifts from this stranger, and his merry ChrisMouse.
- Gifts for Firecat, and Frood, and Lord Incarnadine,
- and also for the Mean Green Dancing Machine.
-
- One for DJ and Robbie, and for Linda the Starship,
- and for Itosu the Ogre, (delivered on toe tip).
- For Taldin, Dreamweaver, and Melandra the elf,
- and if someone was absent, their gift went on the shelf.
-
- For Ocelot, and Phoenix and for ThunderKat all,
- and for Jason and Thyra, (who were not in the hall).
- And a package for Pegasus, and one for Big Al too.
- And if we missed your name, then there's one here for you!
-
- For all of the lurkers and friends large and small,
- we wish you the best of this season for all.
- Then they rushed up the stairs before anyone thinks,
- to ask Nick and his helper when they got Cyberlinks.
-
- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-
- Jason and Thyra walked in the front door a few minutes later, shaking snow
- off their jackets. As they came in, Thyra snatched a holly leaf out of the
- back of Jason's hair. Jason walks up to the bar. "Two spiked eggnogs Mike.
- It's a cold one out tonight." He looks around innocently at all the
- presents and happy faces. "Gee, looks like Santa's already been here. We
- miss anything?"
-
- Happy Holidays,
- Jason and Thyra
