- A tall woman with downy golden fur, and the ears, whiskers and tail one
- would expect of a housecat walks up to the bar. She's barefoot, and wearing
- a short, black velvet dress with a matching choker. A small sapphire blue
- stone set in the choker is glowing softly. "Dragon's breath, please, Mike."
- She exchanges a small gold coin for a glass of transparent red liquour, and
- approaches Dreamweaver. She salutes him with her glass, a smile on her
- lips, and drinks deeply of the potent liquour in the glass. "Well spoken
- Dreamweaver. I'm called Thyra. Welcome to the Place." She finishes her
- drink and tosses it into the fire.
-
- <Crash!> <Whumpffff!>
-
- The residue in the glass makes a lovely fireball. "You seem to have our
- toasts down pat. Let me introduce you to another Callahans tradition. Care
- for a hug?"
-
- She purrs as they embrace. "Mmmmm. That was nice. I think you'll do well
- here. See you later." As she steps away from him, and walks toward the
- fire, she changes in size and shape. When she arrives at the fireside, she
- is a tawny golden kitten with a black velvet collar. She pads around in a
- circle a few times, and makes herself comfortable, curled in the warm glow
- on the hearth of the fireplace.
-
- A man in black leathers wearing a Greek Fisherman's cap notes Dreamweaver's
- somewhat astonished gaze, and comments "Don't let it get to you. Thyra's a
- shapeshifter. She appears here in a variety of feline guises. I think she
- likes to see the reactions of newcomers to her transformations. By the way,
- my name's Jason, welcome to Callahans. Have a seat. Can I buy you a drink?"
- Dreamweaver notes that Jason is working with some sort of laptop-sized
- personal computer, but unlike any he has seen before. This one has a
- holographic cube floating above it for a display, and there is some sort of
- interface cable that runs from the computer to a jack implanted in the back
- of Jason's head, just under his ponytail. Jason notes the look. "I see you
- noticed my Cyberdeck. I'm a decker, an information jockey. I use this
- Cyberdeck to interface directly with the Matrix of computer networks, to
- access, retrieve and manipulate data and information. I also happen to
- write documentaries that you would call science fiction, in the Cyberpunk
- genre. Now, what will you have?"
-
- Hugs and Purrs,
- Thyra and Jason
- .
