- My last experience with a parking ticket:
-
- I bought a car in July of 1991. I parked it at UCLA. Because the
- salesman folded the temporary registration sticker so the expiration
- date did not show, I got a ticket. I never paid the ticket, and I
- attempted to have it written off after I got my registration, but I
- failed because Parking Enforcement wanted to see the temporary sticker,
- which I after when I got the permanent registration. I decided I would
- pay when I got a notice that I was near the due date.
-
- Well, that notice did not appear until late August 1992. It said pay
- $20 by Sept 8, or $50 afterwards. I didn't have the money so I decided
- to wait and pay $50 later. In October, I got a notice saying that if I
- did not pay, the $50 would be added to my registration fees for next year.
- Ok, I'll pay it when I renew. In November, I got a notice threatening me
- with JAIL TIME if I did not pay up. I decided to pay and save myself the
- embarrasment of having the police come to my house and take me to jail
- for a parking ticket.
