- The above is true in So. Cal. also (and this does include Hollywood and
- Burbank where most of this type of stuff goes on..). The problem with
- graphics/animation and F/X people is that it is a VERY tight group that
- is hard to break into. Your best bet (being from the U.K.) would be
- to try and get in with the Lucas Film people at (is it) Woodridge
- Movie studios (where ILM did the first Star Wars), make a name and then
- try and move over here. Without any experience you'll be spending all
- your time doing backround display work (and even most of this goes to
- people with experience...).

- Have no idea about this. I just know that most people I know are here
- on 'vacation' and all work is under the table (pronounced they are
- getting ripped off for the amount of work they are putting in).

- Here in West L.A. (Santa Monica, Hollywood) you can pay from $800 -
- $1200 for a one bedroom. In Burbank you'll pay from $600 - $900 all
- depending on where you're willing to live (true you can find the
- place in Venice or Santa Monica which has rent control for $400-$500
- a month but your car might be gone when you wake up in the morning).
-
- Houses or Condos start around $125k, If you move out to the sticks
- you'll start at around $90k.
