  29. The above is true in So. Cal. also (and this does include Hollywood and
  30. Burbank where most of this type of stuff goes on..). The problem with
  31. graphics/animation and F/X people is that it is a VERY tight group that
  32. is hard to break into. Your best bet (being from the U.K.) would be
  33. to try and get in with the Lucas Film people at (is it) Woodridge
  34. Movie studios (where ILM did the first Star Wars), make a name and then
  35. try and move over here. Without any experience you'll be spending all
  36. your time doing backround display work (and even most of this goes to
  37. people with experience...).

  44. Have no idea about this. I just know that most people I know are here
  45. on 'vacation' and all work is under the table (pronounced they are
  46. getting ripped off for the amount of work they are putting in).

  56. Here in West L.A. (Santa Monica, Hollywood) you can pay from $800 -
  57. $1200 for a one bedroom. In Burbank you'll pay from $600 - $900 all
  58. depending on where you're willing to live (true you can find the
  59. place in Venice or Santa Monica which has rent control for $400-$500
  60. a month but your car might be gone when you wake up in the morning).

  63. you'll start at around $90k.
