  22. This is, of course, the subject of much debate.  When the "Dead Sea Scrolls"
  23. are finally published and made available to the public this question may
  24. be answered.  Some speculate that Jesus was a member of a Jewish splinter
  25. group.  Jesus was the victim of the politics of his day.  He pushed the
  26. Jewish leaders a bit too far by his claims of being the Son of God.  They
  27. (and the Romans) rewarded him for his efforts.

  34. Isn't this the definition of Christian Religion?  It's no surprise that he's
  35. the "only way" given the religion.

  41. "Continued" or "perverted"?  It depends upon whom you speak with.  Christians
  42. see it as a continuation.  Jews see Jesus not as a Prophet but as a loss. To
  43. them, he was just one of many, many people who have claimed down through the
  44. years to be the Messiah.  The difference with Jesus, to the Jews, is that
  45. Jesus has a substantial following.  This, however, does not change the fact
  46. that the religion originated about 2,000 years ago.  If it truely were older,
  47. why don't you honor the sabbath on sundown FRIDAY through sundown SATURDAY
  48. the way God intended?  Why don't you refrain from eating the meat non-cloven
  49. hooved animals such as pigs?  Why don't you celebrate Passover?  Jesus did.
  50. He was celebrating it when he was arrested.

  52. So whether Christianity is a continuation of Judaism is a matter of opinion.

  59. did NOT fulfill the profecy.  He was not the Messiah for which they wait.

  61. Now THIS is a topic I'd like to see JED discuss.  He should know that we
  62. students HUNGER for a DEEPER topic than just whether we are sluts/whores
  63. whoremonger/sinners.  We wanna see that THEORY courses.
