  10. The discussion regarding the few people who are out of debt, and the occasional
  11. person who feels strongly about this have been interesting to me.

  13. I had the misfortune of being adopted by people in their late 40's.  This
  14. caused a multitude of problems in addition to a few advantages.  I have not
  15. finished deciding which are which, or if it is possible to tell.

  17. One of these effects is due to my parents experiences in the Great Depression.
  18. I am not certain how much of this to believe, but things were undeniably
  19. difficult.  As a result, they never live outside their means and are 
  20. preoccupied with their future economic solvency.  This has been passed on
  21. to myself, making things less pleasant but more realistic financially.

  23. How many other debt free people were influenced by this?  I imagine there
  24. are a few strong types who had irresponsible pareents and actively chose
  25. a different way of managing money.

  27. It is terrifying to think that most people of my parents age raised
  28. hippies or disco-dancers.  It is equally frightening to think what most
  29. people my age are.  One thinks:  Ho-Hum.
