- Without necessarily agreeing with every word of Kahl's critique
- of Hank Roth, it seems to me that it's in the main correct. Roth
- _does_ see things from an extreme anti-Israeli perspective and he
- _does_ peddle a line that, thank the stars, is boringly predictable.
-
- Thus no one is surprised when Roth calls any criticism of him
- "red-baiting" and few can think that his long-winded and totally
- irrelevant History of Red-baiting (short course ;-|) is an answer.
-
- I don't want to be misunderstood: I'm opposed to red-(or any other
- kind of) baiting which is another word for cheap and dishonest
- demagoguery. Trouble is: Roth himself operates from within that
- tradition. Makes his complaints more red herrings than serious
- arguments.
