  42. So, all we're talking about is a routing problem, which is not surprising,
  43. given that we ALREADY KNOW that the UUCP maps for the NCSU machines are
  44. seriously out-of-date.

  46. If you have a burning desire to truly test whether you can get mail to 
  47. dsholtsi@csl36h.csl.ncsu.edu, then you need to bypass the pathalias routing
  48. at least in part. Why don't you try something like
  49.  
  50.     dsholtsi%csl36h.csl.ncsu.edu@lll-winken.llnl.gov
  51.  
  52. ?? Hopefully, that'll get the message, via pathalias routing, as far as
  53. lll-winken, at which point lll-winken should open up a direct SMTP 
  54. connection to csl36h.csl.ncsu.edu, and the message will be directly 
  55. delivered over there. If lll-winken isn't smart enough to do that, then
  56. substitute in that position another Internet host that IS smart enough.
  57. Repeat substitutions as necessary.

  59. IN ANY CASE, PLEASE QUIT YOUR WHINING!! THERE IS NO NCSU EMAIL CONSPIRACY!!

  61. For best long-term results, contact the NCSU postmaster, or the NC UUCP Map
  62. Coordinator, and try to get the map entries out there updated, so pathalias
  63. routing will work again.
