  46. From your last name I would infer an Eastern origin.  "Great Dukedom" sounds
  47. like a too literal translation of the German "Grossherzogtum" = Grand Duchy.
  48. Off the top of my head I can think of the Grand Duchy of Warsaw which was
  49. in existence from napoleonic times until it became a kingdom around mid-19th
  50. century.  There might have been a few other grand duchies around, especially
  51. in the Austrian part of that area but I don't know any for sure without
  52. going back to history books.
