- Let's see. Brainwashing. Ted Frank. Correlation? Perhaps. Elimination of
- the pledging process is a gimmick, not a solution to the problem of hazing in
- Fraternities. ZBT and TKE have eliminated their pledging program. They have
- tried to convince the world that the gimmick they have implemented is the only
- solution. It isn't. The only solution to hazing is a dedicated group with a
- singular purpose: to remove hazing from the New Members' program. Hazing
- itself is separationist tactic designed so that the initiated members can
- "dehumanize" the pledge class as a seperate entity and abuse them without
- remorse. I find it disturbing that any man in a Fraternity who truly believes
- in what his Fraternity stands for can allow anything like this to happen to a
- person who he intends to call "Brother." It is equally disturbing that ZBT
- and TKE have chosen to run away from the problem instead of face it. I believe
- that there should be a limit on the time that a New Member Education Program
- should last before initiation (8 weeks is plenty of time to educate new members
- and reeducate older members on the principles of the Fraternity). But one
- week after accepting a bid to initiation is not the answer.

- A bland assertion, Ted. But fortunately, it is only an opinion.
