- This may not be the correct answer but this is how it was explained to me, the
- new gas around here contains alcohol and produces less carbon monoxide, it has
- been in the midwest for many years, well anyway, since alcohol is a solvent
- and we haven't had this sort of fuel around here before there was quite a bit
- of junk (for lack of a better word) floating around in our gas, it would
- settle to the bottom of the tank and not cause much of a problem. The fuel
- filter was supposed to take care of any of this that got into the fuel line,
- well what's happening now is that solvent (alcohol) is mixing everything up so
- the fuel filters on all our cars are getting plugged up from all this stuff
- that used to sit harmlessly on the bottoms of our gas tanks, and the ones at
- the stations, and their big trucks, and their storage tanks...
