  13.     The subject of biblical inerrancy is difficult to evaluate
  14. without a consideration of what inerrant means. If one equates inerrant
  15. with perfection than the written scripture falls short. Scripture does
  16. not teach error, is reliable, and will not fail. This is inerrant
  17. and infallible.

  19.     Some infer that the bible incorrectly states the value of
  20. Pi as exactly three. If the text of 1 Kings 7:23 is examined it says:

  22. " And he made a molten sea, ten cubits from one brim to the other:
  23. it was round all about, and his height was five cubits: and a line
  24. of thirty cubits did compass it round about."

  27.     This refers to the dimensions in approximate terms and it
  28. does not give the profile of the vessel or the dimension of the
  29. brim. It is uncertain where the line was placed relative to the brim.

  31.     Another common beleif is that the bible says the earth is flat
  32. based on verses that speak of the four corners of the earth. The words
  33. actually suggest four portions of the earth in the sense of quadrants.
  34. In addition, there is scripture that says the earth is circular that was
  35. written about 700BC; Isaiah 40:22 "It is he that sitteth upon the 
  36. circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers;".
