- A less outrageous version of Duesberg's theory is that HIV alone is
- harmless, and that it needs a cofactor. Certain research indicates
- that this may be strictly true, but the cofactor, instead of being
- some external agent like poppers as Duesberg proposed, has turned
- out to be foreign lymphocytes. The irony is that exchanging bodily
- fluids also exchanges lymphocytes anyway.
