- At the risk of pulling out my red handkerchief in the midst of the
- bull pen, I'll ask a question out of pure curiosity: What is the
- oldest extant copy of the Talmud - 1000 CE or thereabouts? Or is
- there a copy closer in age to the Dead Sea Scrolls? Also, did the
- scribes follow the same procedure of copy-then-destroy-the-original
- with the Talmud as they generally did with the Scriptures?
