  11. I have probably in excess of 25 subliminal audio and audio/video tapes
  12. at home and they have never worked for me.  For quite some time, I thought
  13. that I was simply blocking the messages (that my mind was not the type 
  14. which responded to this sort of stimuli) and that they worked very well
  15. for the average person.

  17. Then recently, I was discussing subliminals with someone who explained
  18. that _I_ wasn't the problem, but rather that these things just don't work.
  19. He said there has never been any real scientific evidence that any form of
  20. subliminal messages have ever worked (he said the old coke-a-cola story 
  21. is an urban legend).  He said (he had heard) that here is a new method of 
  22. recording the audio tapes now that they may have a better chance of having 
  23. an effect on the user, but didn't know what brand that would be and did
  24. have details of the new technique.

  26. So, I'm asking for a second opinion.  I'd like to hear your thoughts on
  27. the use/effectiveness of subliminal audio and audio/video tapes.   Have
  28. there ever been any scientific studies done on this?   Also, individual 
  29. results would certainly be of interest to me.  If anyone has ever been
  30. able to use these things effectively, then how did you do it?
