  13. OK - the test of a real scientist, as opposed to a crackpot, is to admit
  14. when he is dead wrong. Quantum connection communication is impossible
  15. in standard quantum mechanics. Brian Josephson is right, if it does
  16. exist in living beings and if it is required for mind and esp etc. then
  17. it means that quantum mechanics will have to be modified - probably at
  18. the quantum gravity level which Penrose thinks is important for ordinary
  19. measurement at our low energy level.

  21. Some one said that I could not be moderator because I have an axe to
  22. grind - my hobby horse of quantum connection communication. Well I no
  23. longer believe in it. Let no one dare call me "crackpot" because no
  24. crackpot would ever admit he was wrong on so fundamental an issue. I
  25. have done what Feynman told me to do as we drove around Hollywood in
  26. my Jaguar "Sarfatti, always try to prove yourself wrong!" Well, finally
  27. I did - it took 30 years! But the issue is important. It means the
  28. world view of Tao of Physics etc. is all wrong! The NEW AGE is based on
  29. wrong physics - there is no connection of mysticism and quantum mechanics
  30. etc.

  32. Therefore, since I no longer advocate faster than light communications as
  33. part of standard quantum mechanics the objection to me as moderator is
  34. removed. S. Weinberg apparently has a nonlinear extension of QM that is
  35. worth looking at.
