  19. Find out what the student rate is to join the American Geophysical Union
  20. (I think $7 per year), or there may be an even cheaper organisation from 
  21. which you get Physics Today with no extra charge. Ask around your local
  22. geophysicists (lots of them near UCSD!) and physicists.  
  23. Other useful periodicals: New Scientist, Scientific American.
