  13. I recently received a manuscript to review in which the authors used canonical 
  14. discriminant analysis to look at the association of certain plant species with 
  15. different soil types.  As a non-statistician and someone familiar only with 
  16. more traditional multivariate techniques, I would appreciate a brief
  17. explanation of canonical discriminant analysis (or a good reference).
