  18. on problems of energy saving opened in minsk on friday. The seminar is
  19. organised by Belarussian ENERGY experts and the organization for
  20. distributing energy-related technology which operates in the framework
  21. of the european community. The participants in the seminar will assess
  22. the work of the Minsk joint energy centre established last spring with
  23. the assistance of EC experts. Foreign experts proposed a total of 40
  24. programmes for energy saving and developing advanced technology within
  25. the framework of the TERMI programme which covers the period until the
  26. end of 1994. Foreign experts provided practical assistance in assessing
  27. the energy market and monitoring. They also implemented several
  28. interesting projects gratis, including the construction of a green
  29. house which warms itself up on cold days, blueprints for optimal
  30. lighting up of a factory in minsk and recommendations forimproving
  31. routes and heating facilities given to a city public transport park.
  32. The participants in the seminar will also discuss plans for
  33. international cooperation in 1993 and problems of coordinating their
  34. activities in the framework of the programme of foreign aid to the
  35. commonwealth of independent states.
