  12. I had this crazy idea that needs a whole bunch of light-
  13. sensitive elements lined up in a small space (like several
  14. hundred in about a centimeter, very approximately).  Is
  15. there such a thing, and how fast can it be sampled?  It
  16. occured to me that faxes and scanners might contain such
  17. a device... maybe?  All help deeply appreciated!
