  25. Of course the world changed with electronic communication.  It's radically
  26. different.

  28. The differences apply to law enforcement, citizen and criminal alike.

  30. The question is about privacy -- not about communication.  Communication
  31. makes neighborhoods bigger and harder to see because physical presence
  32. isn't required to have cooperation.  LE has the same advantage as the
  33. criminal, here.

  35. My question remains:  there was a time when criminals were free to have
  36. private conversations and know that the conversation (or meeting) was
  37. private, assuming one of the participants wasn't a spy.  That time is
  38. returning (or has returned).

  40. Old LE tools should map into the new space (with new connectivity,
  41. as if space warps had been invented).  If you disagree, please cite
  42. some such tools and show how they are defeated.
