- Hi all!
- Just like to thanks everyone who fired stuff out u/w hockey my way
- lately. Unfortunately, I can't seem to find the addresses in my extracted
- files. 8-( I appoligize to everyone who wrote, for I can't get back in
- touch with you. Please be assured thougth that I am VERY interested in this
- sport, along with the twelve or so people in the rapidly growing dive group
- here at Trent.
- Still, for Stacy L. Kim, I think this is the answer to your note.
- Trent University is a small (pop. about 4-5 000 students) university
- located approximately 150 km (about 100 mi) NE of Toronto, in the community
- of Peterborough. A 'liberal arts and sciences' university, the school has
- many innovative programs, such as the first university in Ontario to have a
- Native Studies department (and it's a good one, I might add), as well as
- one of the first interdisciplinary environmental programs in Canada, namely
- the Environmental and Resource Studies program, which allows for extensive
- choice in academic planning. I love it!
- The first thing noticeable at the Nassau Campus (the largest of
- Trent's 3 campuses), apart from the extremely strange architecture, is the
- bisection of campus by the Otonabee river. If you were to look a little
- closer, you might see some rowers practicing in the early mornings. Or you
- might just see me and Nico shooting by under the foot bridge that conects
- the facilities on both banks.
- After getting out of the water, we would make our way to the
- athletic complex and shower everything off. As of Wednesday coming, we've
- (the Trent Dive Club) managed to get pool time on a regular basis to keep
- practicing our skills, doing things like UNDERWATER HOCKEY f'rinstance!
- 8-) Now that the administractive things ahve been taken care of, we hope
- to be trying u/w-h in the very near future. Apparently, there is a fair
- amount of interest in the school, and from what I understand there are a
- number of teams in town who meet on a regular basis.
-
- See you all beneath the waves!!! - Pete
