  13. I think you mean so called "Jones counters" which are used to 
  14. measure the length of any road course. I'm not sure but I think their usage
  15. is the standard for all official championships, together with the gauging
  16. procedure.
  17. If I remember right, they provide accuracies up to one meter (when correctly gauged, of course).
  18. Worldwide, there is only one producer in the US.
