- Hi, this is Beth with the recurrent (actually can not get rid of) ITB
- problem).. I am reposting on rec.running because I just found out about
- it. I wear Nike Air Pegasus and have always worn Nike and until now they
- have worked great. I have been running for about 12 years and tri-ing for
- 5.. but I am completely stalled with this problem almost two years ago
- after being in really good shape I added to my mileage because I wanted to
- do a half marathon. Everything was fine until during a long run about 10
- miles my knee started hurting for the first time along the outside at the
- 5 mile mark. I kept running on it (I regret that decision every day) and
- byt eh end of the run.. well my knee had never recovered completely..I
- have tried orthotics..arthroscopic (which worked for about 6 months then
- the problem came right back after my first triathlon in about 1.5 years)
- ..stretching (Ihave always done A LOT of stretching--now I do more)..not
- running (I HATE that) ...chiropractic (I was seeing one for a back injury
- when my knee started, he did not help) and expensive Nike shoes (the Air
- 180's I think--my knee did not like them..too soft I think)..please let me
- know if you have any ideas for me--I am Desperate!! Beth
