  25. I am glad to see that *someone* out there likes Louisiana!  I have
  26. been worried about tourism since USA Today had their big two-page
  27. spread about our lovable (and deeply corrupted) governor, Edwin
  28. Edwards.

  30. USA Today even included one of Edwin's more colorful quotes: "I won't
  31. lose an election in Louisiana unless I am caught in bed with a 
  32. live boy or a dead girl".

  38. Currently, he has threatened to cut University budgets by 40% for 
  39. next year. All the schools here in the state are running around
  40. trying to find ways to meet this "challenge".     :-(

  47. p.s. ....to tie this back to the newsgroup...maybe JazzLand will be
  48. closer to a reality in two years. Right now, no one seems to know
  49. another about it's status -- although many people have heard of the
  50. plan to build a "jazz version of Opryland" in New Orleans.
  51. It is a shame that the proposed site is the swampiest swamp in all
  52. of Louisiana (and that MEANS SOMETHING!)    :-(
