- I know exactly where you're coming from. Last year I hunted
- with my Dad's old (very old) 30-06. It had a right-hand action but the
- stock was custom built for a lefty w/cheek rest. After shooting it a
- little, I became very proficient with the bolt, reaching over the top
- of the gun. I was shooting without a scope, which is why it worked.
- A scope on top would have made it too hard to work the action. I keep
- on getting told to train my eye so I can shoot right handed, but I
- fear it's not for me. I can't even wink my left eye. Appearantly you
- can make the change, if you work at it long enough. I've been
- shooting left for so long now I can't even pull up a rifle right
- handed. Feels like I'm in a seizure or something.
- My solution was to buy a user-friendly Lever action. That's a
- gun anyone can shoot and feel comfortable, and it cost the same as a
- left-bolt gun. If switching your shooting eye works for you, I'd love
- to hear about it. Even though I don't intend to ever follow suit.
- Good Luck.
