- This is very situational, of course. Here's my plan:

- When he refuses to cooperate, I cock my gun and inform him: "This gun now
- has a 2 oz. trigger pull. It will go off if I breathe on it. It's going
- to stay that way 'til you lie down."

- If he backs off and leaves, I let him go (he's not an immediate threat).
- If he takes a step toward me, I shoot. (Anyone crazy enough to advance on
- a cocked gun is prima facie a deadly threat). If he lies down, I decock
- the gun and do something to summon help. Otherwise, we continue to stand
- there -- and I give the gun a mild twitch once in a while to keep him
- thinking.
