- Well here is a tid-bit on laser range finders that I ran
- across. The source of this info is a trade journal called
- _Industrial Equipment News_, which is an open source (ie it
- is not classified in any way). The disclaimer is so that no
- one thinks this is privilaged or classified information. Now
- for the tid-bit :
-
-
- _LASER RANGEFINDER uses Head-Up Display for
- easy, accurate targeting_
-
- ProSurvey 1000 operates by measuring pulse time of
- flight rather than phase measurement commonly used
- in conventional EDM devices. Not requiring reflective
- surfaces or special targets, eye-safe laser gauges
- distances up to 2,500 ft with 6 in. accuracy or can
- measure distances of objects with highly reflective
- surfaces to 25,000 ft. Sighting with Head-Up-Display
- provides complete field-of-view, unlike restrictive
- telescopic sights. Laser Atlanta, Norcross, GA

- There is a small photo with the ad/notice which shows a man
- holding the unit. It looks to be about the size of a typical
- police radar gun (estimated 5"x5"x12" by looking at the photo).
- There are 4 buttons/switches (Off, Test, Range, and Speed), 2
- lcd displays (Speed and Range), and 2 indicator lights (Power
- and Laser). Ther is a pistol grip handle on the bottom middle
- of the main body and there are a couple of jacks and dodads on
- the bottom edge of the main body.
