- Well, it's not your calf muscles that are the problem. It is the
- muscles along the FRONT of your lower legs (either side of your shins).
- They are too weak with respect to your calf muscles. This is how
- runners get 'em too. So, the excercises for prevention involve these
- muscles. Sit on a table or high chair and put heavy books on your
- feet. Now raise your toes. Feel it pull along the fronts of your
- lower legs? These are the muscles that need strengthening until
- they are no longer overwhelmed by your calves.
