- I think that they're just to clear the strut towers. The entire 3000GT gives
- me the impression of a car that was not too well-thought-out in the details
- before it was actually built. Look at how much plastic crap had to be added
- on the turbo AWD model to make it stable at (admittedly excellent) speed. Or
- is that garbage there just for looks? I doubt the scoops are for ram air;
- with a turbo you have about all the air pressure you need, I would think.
- Another point: Why on earth did that car come out so heavy? If I remember
- correctly, the fully loaded turbo AWD model weighs in at close to 4000 lbs!
- Compare that to the RX7, which is able to keep up with a good bit less power
- because it weighs so much less. BTW, just how much DOES the RX7 weigh? I
- can't remember exactly.

- I have to add here, the 3000GT has a nice shape, excluding the fact that it's
- about a foot too wide and two or three feet too long, but the spoilers, skirts,
- and bubbles just ruin it.
