- Recently, I became the victim of auto theft, a tasteless deed
- that left my 87 Regal T-Type without many of its parts... among those being
- the stock wheels and tires.
-
- But justice actually prevailed in the form of a handsome insurance
- settlement, leaving me with $8,000 in cash and the remains of my car to
- repair or trash as I see fit.
-
- I looked into replacing the stock aluminum rims, and the factory
- want damn near $1,500 for the set! So I figure I can have just about the
- best aftermarket set-up money can buy for less than the price of the stock
- shit alone. So here I am.
-
- Option 1: Go with a 15x8 wheel and a wide 50 series tire (local
- shops have put P265-50-15's all the way around with
- minimal problems).
-
- Option 2: Move up to 16x8 wheels with P245-50-16's up front and
- P255-50-16's in the rear, ala GNX.
-
-
- What I need is the voice of experience to guide my decision,
- keeping in mind that I don't want to spend more than $1,500 in the process.
- I am quite partial to the 16" setup, so keep that in mind :)
-
- If anyone out there knows what will or will not work for this
- application, please include the correct offset for the wheels.. Thanks
