  20. uh, not necessarily.  in some states, it's illegal to remove the
  21. safety equipment that the vehicle is originally sold with.
  22. i believe it's usually all right to install _new_ belts, but you're
  23. not supposed to remove the _original_ ones (sounds stoopid, i know).
