- Maybe some of you car gurus can help me with this one. I have an 85 Peugeot
- 309 (for those not familiar with it, basically a 4 cylinder 1.6 l clunker),
- which has the following problem: on rainy days, the car hesitates and
- shudders at low RPM. Once or twice it was really bad - the car was shaking
- a LOT, and when I stopped at a light it stalled. That time it would stall
- whenever I let it idle. At higher RMP it is not nearly as noticeable, but
- you can still feel it from time to time. On dry days, it runs without a
- hitch. I'm guessing that it is either an electrical problem, or that somehow
- water is getting into the gas. I've replaced the plugs and the distributor
- cap (they needed it), and the cables from the distributor to the plugs are
- fine. Has anyone had similar problems? If it is water getting into the fuel,
- any ideas on how to trace where the leak is coming from?
-
- thanks in advance...
