  28. Except the Mazda MX-6 is sticker priced something like $2000-$3000 more than
  29. the Probe.  No joke.  The argument that the Mazda is a better deal because of
  30. the warranty will only hold water if you are expecting to have to do $2000-
  31. $3000 worth of warranty work, and if you think you're going to be spending
  32. that much on repairs, then you probably should buy a different car. :-)

  34. I think the Probe vs. MX-6 decision must come down to what an individual is
  35. looking for.  If someone wants a luxury-oriented sports coupe, then the MX-6
  36. would be the logical choice, but if you want a sporty sports coupe, I think 
  37. the Probe blows away the MX-6 in that arena, especially when you look at the
  38. top-of-the-line versions (Probe GT and MX-6 LS).

  40. Check the latest issue (December '92?) issue of Car & Driver.  They do a 
  41. comparison test of 5 sports coupes:  Probe GT, MX-6 LS, Volks Corrado, Mitsu
  42. Eclipse AWD, and Honda Prelude.  The test was oriented torward the sporty end
  43. of the spectrum, and the Probe was ranked first among these cars.  The MX-6?
  44. Well, it was in last place.  It looks nice, though.
