  11. I read a while back that Ford has a "silent" recall for a paint 
  12. problem with their trucks (blue if I remember)

  14. Well I have a  1988 GMC (Secret Service dark blue) that seems to be
  15. just chipping away. I went to the dealer yesterday and inquired as to why
  16. this was happening.  The body shop manager took a look at the truck, said
  17. x "Yup, paint delamination.  We can fix you up for only the $100 deductable".

  19. Well a few thoughts jumped to my mind:

  21.     1) I expected the worst..like it was all my fault and I would pay
  22.        through the nose.

  24.     2) In the little time he examined the vehicle, he was quite
  25.        confident that it would only cost the $100 Deductable..Gee
  26.        I don't have any "extend warranty".

  28.     3) He didn't say, but I bet he had seen this before and GM
  29.            is aware of it.

  31. SO I ask the great wisdom of the net..Has anyone out experienced this
  32. problem or have heard of it from the GM side? Has anyone actually had
  33. this work done?
