  19. Well, did you ever try using the D2 and D1 positions on an automatic?? It
  20. appears not. If you shift into low gear at 40 mph or so, believe me, you
  21. will get all the engine braking you need.

  23. As to learning stick, yes it is simple. I learned in a 1982 Chevy half ton
  24. with a COLUMN shift and mechanical clutch. Even with these incredibly
  25. unmanagable items, it still only took me about a day to learn how to drive
  26. the thing well. That is why it sometimes annoys me when people brag about
  27. how they are such good drivers because they can drive a manual. Especially
  28. if that manual has a nice, easy to shift five speed and a feather-touch
  29. hydraulic clutch. When they can manipulate a column shift three speed in
  30. heavy traffic, then they can brag.  :-)
