- surround sound decoder or another, plus low-power amps to drive the rear
- speakers, as well.

- If you only have one video source, the VCR, in a standard antenna-feeds-VCR-
- feeds-TV/monitor chain, then no, the A/V receiver's switching capability won't
- give you anything you don't have now. It would come in handy if you ever add
- another VCR, an LD player, or want to easily patch in a camcorder for editing
- onto the VCR, etc.

- A/V receivers with built-in surround sound decoders and amps will help you if
- you don't already have these functions in other units, or if you want to cut
- down on the number of separate "pieces" in your system.
