- I mean, a view of creativness that refers specifically to monetary gain is
- pretty horrendous, don't you think? The articstic impulse is supposed to be
- "above" all that. If you can make a profit at it, then fine. But otherwise
- you still create.
- Don't get me wrong. I don't want to strip Playboys power to control thier
- images. I want them to retain copyright. I want them to have the power to
- stop a.b.p.e. But I also want a.b.p.e to continue as long as I see it as
- harmless. I do see it as harmless, and would argue with the publishers about
- it. I think I could convince them to allow it to continue.

- The case is more complicated than this, I think. There are other pay BBS's
- that go unsue, I am sure. I think EH was sued because they threatened
- another BBS because that BBS was carrying images EH had scanned. It was when
- EH claimed ownership of the images that Playboy was provoked to act. The
- case actually encourages me.
