  15. The other night on the news it was reported that Northwest  has now 
  16. terminated 2100 positions in 1992.  Many of these positions were
  17. high paying, including upper mid-management and pilots.

  19. Does anyone know how many new jobs they have promised with the Airbus maintenance
  20. bases in the Duluth area?  I'm trying to see if there will be any net gain
  21. in jobs for the state, or are we already in the red?
  22.  
  23. Obviously they needed to make these cuts to compete with the big guys,
  24. but why was this never mentioned to MN residents when the 
  25. legislature was debating the MAC bonds last year?  Is the competitive
  26. environment changing so fast that they didn't know they would
  27. be cutting back or did the state do a bad job in assessing NWA's
  28. position in the market?
