  12. Folks, please restrain yourselves with FTP-by-mail!

  14. While most of you are content to pull the occasional megabyte archive from
  15. an Internet site, some of you enjoy pulling TENS of Megabytes in a single
  16. day via mail.  Get a clue, folks!  I don't want to put a "mail throttle"
  17. into the mailer at tcnet, just to keep abusers from denying service to the
  18. rest of the sites, but I may have to.

  20. Today, 12 Meg is sitting in spool space waiting to go to ONE site.  It has
  21. been there all morning because that site has a busy phone line.  This data
  22. has already tied up modem phone time on the single link between uum1 and
  23. tcnet, and will be tying up one of tcnet's modems for quite some time when
  24. it does get connected.  Is this fair?
