- Folks, please restrain yourselves with FTP-by-mail!
-
- While most of you are content to pull the occasional megabyte archive from
- an Internet site, some of you enjoy pulling TENS of Megabytes in a single
- day via mail. Get a clue, folks! I don't want to put a "mail throttle"
- into the mailer at tcnet, just to keep abusers from denying service to the
- rest of the sites, but I may have to.
-
- Today, 12 Meg is sitting in spool space waiting to go to ONE site. It has
- been there all morning because that site has a busy phone line. This data
- has already tied up modem phone time on the single link between uum1 and
- tcnet, and will be tying up one of tcnet's modems for quite some time when
- it does get connected. Is this fair?
