  32. Seems to me Johnny Carson must have made about 1,000 such phrases.
  33. I can't think of them when I need them but here are a few:

  36. Not all of his biscuits are baked.
  37. A few bricks shy of a load.
  38. Elevator doesn't stop at all floors.
  39. Not well wrapped (or not tightly wrapped).

  41. I like the one about sandwitches but that leads to a whole generic form:
  42. He is 1 (2 or 3 or a few) _objects_ short of a _collection_.
  43. Let's see if I can do one on the spot:
  44. He is 3 words short of a sentence.
  45. He is a few lines short of a (computer) program.
  46. He is a few genes short on the chromosone test.
  47. It gets a little sick after a while but if you need a new one and only
  48. one then maybe you can create one.

  50. Some phrases are regional.
  51. In the south bay you might say he belongs in Agnews.
  52. In N.W. Pa. you say he's a candidate for North Warren.
